Our 28 Day Boot Camp Olympics training program will give you the world class training and testing to ensure that you are prepared to take on anything the summer throws at the end of 28 days!
During the BOOT CAMP OLYMPICS you will be tested on your initial fitness skills, then you will receive world-class training (boot camp or personal training) for 28 days and re-tested to see which team made the most improvement and which one performed supreme!

All testing and training will be held at our gym in North Orem. We are located on the northwest corner of 1600 North & State Street, right next to Costa Vida.
IMPORTANT: If you do not have partner(s) let me know and I’ll put you on a list with others looking for teammates. At least one team member needs to be a non-current EXL Client.

Q. Why do we need teammates? Why not individual?
A. Having teammates helps with accountability. You will work harder. You will be more consistent. You will get better results. How many times have you started a training program on your own and just quite after a while? Having partners flat out helps keep you motivated and consistent.
Q. Do my teammates and I need to be at the same fitness level?
A. You and your teammates do NOT need to be at the same fitness level. We are looking for the team that can perform the best as a team or improve the most.
Q. Do my teammates and I need to attend camp/train at the same time?
A. No, attend camp or training at whatever time is convenient for each of you. There is no penalty for attending at different times. Though, working out together does add another level of accountability.
Q. What if I can’t find a team?
A. If you need help finding a partner(s) you can either email me (and I’ll put you on the list) or you can check our EXL facebook page and look for the post that talks about “hooking” partners up for the challenge and you can pick your partner(s) there.
Q. What kind of results can I expect?
A. We have done challenges like this in the past with great success. We get near 100% improvement with all contestants in all events. Most clients can look forward to a 25-50% improvement on their scores in push-ups and inverted rows as well as the cardio challenge (beep test). You will get more fit. I guarantee it.
Q. How will the winners be determined?
A. We will be using a point system based off the best scores. The best test time/distance/repetition number will be given a score of 1,000. All contestants are then given a score based on their percentage of the top score for their sex. For example, if the top long jump distance is 10 feet. That individual will get 1,000 points. A contestant with a distance of 9 feet will get a score of 900. Overall winners will have the highest score and the most improved will have the greatest difference between the their initial score and final. Team scores will be a combination of all 3 teammates’ scores (usually the best score in each event). Each teammate has to contribute at least 1 score in the team total. One team member can not have more than 3 scores in the total.
Q. What is the difference between boot camp and personal training?
A. Boot camp is a larger setting, up to 18 clients in a session. It’s for healthy adults wanting to raise metabolism, lose fat and get fit. Everyone in camp does the same workout. We offer different levels of each exercise so all fitness levels are challenged. Personal training is performed in a small group of no more than 5 clients. Clients have their own program designed around their specific goals and limitations. It is ideal for those with specifics goals not addressed by boot camp. It is also ideal for those that aren’t fit enough for camp or unable to do camp do to an injury. Because of the smaller more personal setting it is favored by those wanting more coaching and attention than found in boot camp.
Q. Is it going to be Über competitive?
A. It is a competition, but EXL is not about degrading or judging. The environment is uplifting and you will be competing more against yourselves than anything. As far as how big the challenge is…we traditionally have between 7 and 15 teams. We do need a minimum of 7 teams to run the challenge. If 2 teams get cash prizes you have some really good odds of winning.

Q. What if I’m going to be out of time at some time during the 28 day challenge?
A. You will not be penalized for missing training sessions. You can train for all the events in the challenge with minimum equipment. So training while on vacation or traveling is possible and effective. We post travel and at home workouts on our EXL Fitness Facebook page every week.
